John Seymour was an advocate for self-reliance, conviviality, and smallhold farming. Filled with his wife’s illustrations, John produced The Self-Sufficient Life, a seminal guide to efficient, human-scale agriculture and homesteading, including urban plots and one-acre backyard concepts.
