Q:A quick comment on the road disc thing. People who ride long descents, are larger, and drag their brakes, are more than likely going to end up in a body bag with a disc braked road bike. You have obviously never experienced brake fade from a disc brake setup. It comes when constant friction overheats the rotor and glazes the pads, making for zero stopping. It is not uncommon on mountain bike on long descents, and that is usually with a 180mm or larger rotor. Small (140mm) road rotors scare me.
