A very mixed weekend
This past weekend was the Giro d’Cielo stage race in Northern NJ. It was supposed to be an A race for me, but several crazy weeks at work coupled with some travel threw off my preparations.
I’m not a climber, so I finished near the back of the pack in the uphill TT that was Stage 1. Stage 2 was a circuit race that is more my style, with only one hill. My complaint for myself here was staying too far back in the pack - it basically meant every lap included a sprint. Stage 3 was a road race, and I didn’t finish. Too many hills.
Either way, I got to ride my bike in beautiful weather. And cycling continues to humble.
Here was Stage 1: a 4.6mi TT

Stage 3: a 5.5 mi lap Road Race. Didn’t finish - still don’t have enough gas!
